How does a world traveler get to the airport? Sky Ride!

In 2014 I set a goal for myself, to travel more. Traveling can be really expensive, so one way I choose to save a little extra money is to use Sky Ride.

Sky Ride offers fast, convenient and affordable service to and from Denver International Airport. Sky Ride runs 365 days a year and each bus runs at least hourly.

The average cost of a shuttle service from downtown to DIA is approximately $25 each way and a cab about $60 each way. RTD provides the most affordable service. For only $11 each way I can take Sky Ride right from Denver Union Station to my terminal with few stops.

If you have ever paid for parking at an airport you know how much those charges add up. The parking fee at DIA is $18 a day for terminal parking. RTD offers Sky Ride parking at 16 different Park-n-Rides for only $2 a day, with the first 24 hours free.

Flying internationally can always be challenging, so the best advice I can offer is to "expect things to go wrong." Inevitably reservations will get messed up, messages can be lost in translation, and you will lose or misplace something important. Knowing that things will go wrong makes it easier for me to remain calm. After all, some of the best adventures you have are the ones unplanned.

Hopefully this year I will be able to fulfill one more traveling goal of helping out in an orphanage in Haiti, but for next trip I’ll be heading to Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef.
